Phono Pre-Stage for MM and MC, switchable
• Separate inputs for MM, MC and plug-in Phono Load adaptors
• RIAA De-emphasis in Class-A
• External silent power supply
• Phono Load adaptor for 100/200/1000 Ω
• Massive aluminium housing made of an extruded aluminium
Since the inception of AVM in 1986, AVM has always made efforts to provide carefully developed and manufactured phono pre-stages. These sensitive components for RIAA de-emphasis require special attention to detail as this is the part of the audio chain where the tiniest signals need to be processed. Smallest deviations in this stage will have large and dramatic effect on the sound reproduced. Being aware of this, it is vital to determine which signals need to be processed in order to design and build a great sounding phono pre-stage. At AVM we make a commitment to perfection and we have a relentless pursuit of new and better ways to manufacture our components. Every component we make is designed to an unsurpassed standard and our manufacturing capability is superb.
The P 1.2 is designed for the amplification of the microscopic signals from MC and MM cartridges. To do this delicate job precisely, we use individual inputs for MM and MC. The included high quality Phono Load Adaptors may be plugged in parallel. 100/200/1000Ω adaptors are included with the P 1.2.
In the P 1.2 we focus on proven circuit design from our repertoire of phono stages. By reducing the signal paths to the minimum, it makes an efficient protection of the circuits from degrading electromagnetic influences possible. The massive aluminium housing, constructed from one thick piece of custom designed extrusion aluminium, protects the circuit board effectively from micro phonic effects. In the areas most relevant for sound quality we utilise the finest film capacitors and metal layered resistors with 0.5% tolerance. Selecting these components carefully and matching them for channel equality, combined with a significant break-in period, allows us to produce a remarkable product.
